Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does the booking calendar work?

    Please enter the dates you wish to use the equipment; one day hire is a 24hr period.  If collecting, the equipment will be available for you to collect on the start date select and it must be returned on the end date you select.  If we are shipping the equipment it will arrive with you the day before the selected start date and if requested will be collected the day after the selected end date.

  • Can I put items on hold?

    You can put items on hold but please confirm at least 72 hrs before the rental is due to leave us otherwise it will be released to other orders. Should you not let us know then we charge a no show fee equal to a one day hire.

  • What is the minimum and maximum rental period?

    The minimum rental period is 1 day (24hrs). We charge a 1 day weekend rental on orders collected from store on Friday and returned by 10am the following Monday or 2 days if the equipment is shipped overnight.

    The maximum rental period you can rent for is 28 days however should you require it for longer than this period then please contact us for a custom quote.

  • What is damage waiver?

    Damage waiver is a 10% charge on your rental that covers against any accidental damage (exc. Negligence) that may occur whilst the rental equipment is in your care. You are liable for the first £250 of any claim.

    Damage waiver is compulsory unless you have your own insurance that covers photographic hire. We will need to see a copy of your policy before the rental starts so that we can remove the charge.

  • How much deposit is required?

    We normally require a security deposit to the retail value of the item however after we have seen your ID and proof of address and gone through our security processes we may be able to substantially reduce it. The deposit is refunded on safe return of the equipment.

  • Do I have to place a deposit every time I rent?

    A deposit is always required, however you could consider setting up a reduced deposit or credit account.  Please see the account options or contact us for further details.

  • Can I get someone else to collect my equipment or pay the deposit?

    Yes as long as the person collecting is the person that is leaving the deposit and they have their credit card present. Mail order rentals must be shipped to the billing address of the card being used for the deposit.  

  • Can I pay over the phone?

    Yes, as long as we are shipping to the billing address of the card that is used for the deposit.

  • Can I get same day delivery?

    We do offer a London/Manchester based courier service. Please ask for a quote.

  • Can you deliver on a weekend?

    Yes we can deliver on a Saturday. Unfortunately we are unable to offer deliveries on a Sunday.

  • What happens if I am not in when the delivery is attempted?

    The courier will leave a card and you will be requested to arrange collection from their depot or re-arrange the delivery for another day.

  • What happens if my order doesn’t arrive?

    We currently use FedEx for shipping but delays do happen on occasions.  We will do our best to sort out any delivery problems but we cannot be held liable for delays.

  • What is the latest time I can place an order for next day delivery?

    We would require confirmation by 1pm at the latest.

  • Can I return my rental after you have closed?

    Unfortunately we cannot offer this service however, if you are in London or Manchester we can arrange a local courier to collect from you. Please ask for details and a quote.

  • Will I get my deposit back immediately?

    We refund the deposit as soon as all of the equipment and accessories are returned however the credit card services can take up to 4 working days to clear the funds back to your account.

  • What happens if something if something goes wrong?

    All of our equipment is tested before each rental however on the odd occasion when a problem does arise we will do our best to get you a replacement as soon as possible. Should you find a fault please let us know straight away.

  • What happens if I am late to return equipment?

    We do charge for late returns however if you have a problem getting the kit back to us then please call us as soon as possible.

  • What’s the latest time I can drop off kit?

    This varies depending on the store. Please see the Locations Section for store opening hours.

  • How do your weekend rentals work?

    You can collect from store on Friday and return by 10am the following Monday for a 1 day rental charge.  Thats 3 days for the price of 1!

    If you wish us to ship your rental to you on an overnight courier then we charge a 2 day weekend rental rate and your equipment would be delivered on the Friday and collected on the Monday.
